Pinoys safe amid Riyadh explosions

No Filipinos were reported affected by explosions in Riyadh on Friday night and Saturday morning, 18 and 19 September, following drone and ballistic missile attacks by Houthi militants targeting the Saudi capital and energy facilities along the Red Sea coast, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said Monday.

The DMW said it was closely monitoring the situation of Filipinos in Saudi Arabia through its Migrant Workers Offices (MWOs), in coordination with the Philippine Embassy and consulates in the Kingdom.

The agency said the embassy and consulates are ready to assist overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who may need help.

The DMW advised OFWs to remain vigilant and follow the guidance and advisories issued by Saudi authorities.

OFWs needing assistance were urged to coordinate immediately with the nearest MWO of the Philippine Embassy or consulates.

The DMW said it would continue monitoring developments and issue updates as more information becomes available. OFWs requiring immediate assistance were advised to contact the appropriate MWO or the DMW through its hotlines.
