PhilHealth’s YAKAP, GAMOT now closer to Kapampangans

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) is bringing the Yaman ng Kalusugan at Proteksyon (YAKAP) and Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment (GAMOT) programs closer to Kabalens.

According to Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, an assessment meeting was held on Thursday along with doctors, nurses, medical technologists, and other health workers from district hospitals in the province to boost the implementation of the two programs.

She said that under the YAKAP program, Kabalens can have medical consultation to accredited providers, and if necessary, receive a prescription and access to the needed medicine and health services.

She said that there are now 169 accredited YAKAP providers in Pampanga, which beneficiaries can choose from. She furthered that it is important for the beneficiaries to have an active and updated membership to utilize the benefits provided to PhilHealth members.

“Maaaring magsimula sa pagpunta sa pinakamalapit na Barangay Health Center para magpa-assess at magabayan sa mga serbisyong maaaring makuha,” she added.

Barangay Health Workers and Nanay Community Workers are also part in disseminating information, while the Provincial Health Office and the Provincial Government are coordinating with the national government to further make health services more accessible to residents.

PhilHealth recently reminded members about key benefit rules, including the annual ₱20,000 GAMOT benefit which does not carry over to the next year, and that requesting ID cards and Member Data Records (MDR) is free of charge.
