Chicken lovers, consider this your sign to turn up the heat.

McDonald’s Philippines is bringing a little more fire to the menu with its Asia Chicken Campaign, a regional collaboration that puts two major names together: McDonald’s and Korean superstar G-DRAGON.

Launched in the Philippines on 17 September, the campaign takes inspiration from the continuing popularity of Korean culture across Asia and translates some of that excitement into something familiar and delicious: chicken.

At the heart of the local launch are two offerings made for those who like their chicken with extra personality.

McSpicy brings a crispy whole-cut chicken thigh fillet seasoned for a distinctly spicy bite. It comes tucked inside a toasted bun with fresh lettuce and creamy mayonnaise, giving the sandwich a mix of heat, crunch and richness.

For those who prefer their chicken in bite-sized form, McNuggets with Cajun Sauce offer another way to join the flavor adventure. The familiar golden nuggets are paired with a creamy Cajun sauce that adds savory depth, tanginess and a gentle spicy kick.

The result is a menu pairing that takes an everyday chicken craving somewhere a little more adventurous.

Behind the campaign is an equally unexpected pairing. G-DRAGON has built a career that stretches well beyond music, with his influence reaching fashion, art and popular culture. McDonald’s, meanwhile, brings its global reach and decades of familiarity to the collaboration.

Together, they form what the campaign describes as an “ICON×ICON” partnership, connecting food with the wider cultural conversation happening around Korean creativity.

The campaign spans 13 Asian markets, with digital content and limited-time experiences planned to give fans more ways to engage with the collaboration. There is also something for collectors and G-DRAGON fans, with exclusive PEACEMINUSONE merchandise created for the campaign.

For McDonald’s Philippines Brand Manager Karl Christian Chua, the collaboration is an opportunity to bring together food, creativity and the influence of Korean culture while creating memorable experiences for customers.

That combination is perhaps what gives this chicken campaign its bite. It is not simply about making a familiar menu item spicy. It is about taking a well-loved food experience and giving it a new cultural flavor.

And with Korean-inspired tastes continuing to find their way into the dining habits of Filipinos, the timing could not be hotter.

So, whatever you do, don’t chicken out.

McSpicy has the heat. The McNuggets have the Cajun kick. And with G-DRAGON bringing his own brand of creative fire, McDonald’s is ready to set the chicken scene ablaze.

One thing is certain: this is no ordinary chicken run. It is a full-on dragon fire.
