Dengue cases in Albay now at 2,888

NAGA CITY – The cumulative cases of dengue in Albay province has reached 2,888, the Albay Provincial Information Office revealed on Monday, 21 September.

The province’s dengue cases have been climbing since January, which prompted the provincial government to declare a state of calamity over Albay earlier this month.

Data revealed that the cases were recorded in 34 barangays in the cities of Legazpi and Tabaco and the towns of Manito, Malilipot, Polangui, Libon, Rapu-rapu, Bacacay, Sto. Domingo, Daraga, and Malinao.

Just on Sunday, 20 September, the Albay Provincial Health Office recorded 152 new dengue cases.

The provincial government of Albay continues to implement the Department of Health’s campaign 4Ts (Taob, Taktak, Tuyo, at Takip) in communities to further curb the spread of the mosquito-borne disease.

Residents are also reminded to observe the 4S strategy, which stands for: “search and destroy” mosquito breeding places, self-protection, seek early consultation, and support fogging/spraying in hotspot areas.
