The Maharlika Pilipinas Pickleball Tour (MPPT) promises intense action when its Invitational tournament fires off on 3 October at the Pickleball Central PH in Angeles, Pampanga.

MPPT commissioner Mark Espinosa said the tournament will serve as a warmup of the league’s actual competition next year, where the best and brightest Filipino pickleball players will be competing for pride, glory and hefty cash prizes.

In fact, the league is dangling P1 million for the winner of each leg with a bigger purse awaiting the ultimate champion in the finals later this year.

“My expectation is that we will give everyone a good show in terms of good competition and good matches, because what we have right now are the best of the best pickleball players in the Philippines,” Espinosa said.

“This is a showcase for us. And one thing that I can say is that MPPT's vision is to discover and showcase the best Filipino pickleball players.”

After the Pampanga leg, the Invitationals will move to Tagaytay from 17 to 18 October, followed by Abra from 7 to 8 November and Bacoor from 14 to 15 November.
