Sting ops yield 30kg suspected shabu; HVI arrested

Police arrested a high-value suspect and seized approximately 30 kilograms of suspected shabu valued at P204 million during a buy-bust operation, Philippine National Police chief (PNP) Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. announced Sunday.

Officers arrested the 40-year-old female suspect, identified as alias “Girlie,” at a residence in Vera Ville Town House, Phase 2, Barangay BF International.

The operation was conducted by the PNP Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit-National Capital Region alongside supporting units, in coordination with the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-NCR.

“This operation delivers a significant blow to the illegal drug supply by taking a high-value drug suspect and a substantial volume of suspected shabu out of circulation,” Nartatez said, adding that police will continue targeted operations against drug trafficking syndicates.

The suspect was detained at the Las Piñas City Police Station and faces charges under Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Officers transferred the seized contraband to the Southern Police District Forensic Group in Taguig City for chemical analysis.

Following the seizure, NCRPO officer-in-charge Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano issued a warning to logistics and courier services against being exploited by drug syndicates.

Abrahano’s warning followed an 18 September incident in Barangay Parang, Marikina City, where two motorcycle delivery drivers flagged police after becoming suspicious of a package they were assigned to transport.

Investigators subsequently recovered various illegal drugs valued at P150,000 from the parcel.

“We are reminding all courier companies and delivery personnel: be vigilant,” Abrahano said, urging logistics firms to train employees to detect suspicious deliveries and coordinate with law enforcement.
