Minor blaze hits LTO-NCR office
A minor fire broke out on the third floor of the Land Transportation Office-National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) building along Araneta Avenue in Barangay Santo Domingo on Sunday morning, causing limited damage and no injuries, officials said.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported that the fire started around 11:14 a.m. and reached second alarm before firefighters contained it at 12:04 p.m.
Investigators said the blaze destroyed only two computers and two tables without spreading to other parts of the facility.
The damaged equipment was used for license plate distribution inventory. An electrical short circuit is being investigated as a possible cause.
LTO chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao confirmed that no critical personal records were affected or destroyed in the incident.
Because the office was closed on Sunday, authorities reported no casualties or injuries. Fire investigators estimated the property damage at P30,000.
