BoC seeks digital trade, AI adoption

The Bureau of Customs (BoC) joined trade officials and international stakeholders in Dalian to advance supply chain connectivity and accelerate digital customs modernization during the Second Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Sub-Committee on Customs Procedures.

The five-day conference focused on building more efficient, secure, and resilient regional trade networks through shared best practices and enhanced cross-border cooperation.

Delegates discussed the integration of technology and innovation into customs administration, with an emphasis on artificial intelligence, digitalized administrative systems, and automated trade processes.

Sessions also addressed paperless trading initiatives, Single Window systems, e-commerce management, Authorized Economic Operator programs, and global supply chain security.

BoC representatives reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to collaborating with APEC member economies and private sector partners to streamline legitimate trade and support e-commerce growth while maintaining strict border controls.
