1. KYLIE Verzosa brought romance to deconstruction in Renz Reyes, wearing a sheer white dress accented with sculptural floral appliqués, ribbon-like straps and layered textures. 2. Donny Pangilinan relaxed the traditional suit in an oversized black pinstripe blazer by Jerome Lorico, defined by dropped shoulders and an effortless silhouette. 3. Vice Ganda brought the drama in a pink and barbie coded magenta strapless gown by Anthony Ramirez, finished with a sweeping train. 4. Michelle Dee wore a Proudrace gown that gave deconstruction a sharp, architectural edge, pairing a fitted navy silhouette with cutouts, contrasting panels, pale-blue accents and a metallic belt. 5. Kyline Alcantara made a statement in a blue ensemble with a directional, dimensional pattern that gave the streamlined silhouette a sense of movement. — PHOTOGRAPHS BY YUKO SHIMOMURA FOR DAILY TRIBUNE

Preview Ball 2026 unpacks the anatomy of Filipino fashion one layer at a time.

Thursday night, the silver carpet did what it does best: Edgy. On 10 September, the Grand Ballroom of Marriott Manila at Newport World Resorts became the playground of Philippine style, as Preview gathered its brightest — designers, style setters, actors, icons — for the industry’s most anticipated night of the year.

‘Deconstructed’

For its 31st year, Preview isn’t just celebrating the finished look, it’s pulling back the seams.

Deconstructed Fashion is this year's directive: an invitation to see past the polished silhouette and into the raw material underneath — the ideas, the technique, the cultural DNA that builds a Filipino garment from thread up. It's fashion as process, not just product.

The night unveiled its fourth annual roster of Preview Best Filipino Fashion Designers — five names shaping what "Filipino design" means right now: Rajo Laurel, Vania Romoff, Jerome Lorico, Vina Romero and Nicolo Perez.

The Preview Best Dressed list returned to spotlight the individuals whose personal style left a mark this year, among them Donny Pangilinan, Atasha, Jarren Garcia and Kianna Dy.

A torch, passed

The evening's most symbolic moment came as Preview's inaugural Style Icon, Marian Rivera, passed this year's Style Icon title to Anne Curtis-Smith — a full-circle handoff between two women who've defined eras of Filipino style in their own right.

And closing out the night's headlines was the Unkabogable star Vice Ganda who takes the cover of Preview Book Vol. II, cementing a career-spanning moment as one of the industry's most unmistakable style forces.

Here are some of the most striking arrivals on the silver carpet:
