Six Pinoy seafarers return from Black Sea

Six Filipino seafarers from the M/V Grace Romavictor returned safely to the Philippines Sunday night after being affected by an incident in the Black Sea, a high-risk area amid the continuing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

The seafarers arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport aboard Etihad Airways Flight EY446, where personnel from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Migrant Workers and Manila International Airport Authority medical team assisted them with arrival processing and provided medical, welfare and financial assistance.

Their licensed manning agency also assisted with medical checkups, temporary accommodation and onward travel to their respective communities.

OWWA said its Regional Welfare Office will continue assisting the seafarers after their return, including referrals for welfare, reintegration and other support services based on their needs and qualifications.
