Ogie Diaz fulfills P1-million birthday promise to daughter Erin

Ogie Diaz turned his daughter Erin Diaz’s 25th birthday into an unforgettable milestone after surprising her with a whopping P1 million.

The entertainment personality and talent manager revealed that the generous birthday present was actually the fulfillment of a promise he had made to his children years earlier.

According to Ogie, he told his children that they would receive a special bonus if they reached the age of 25 without getting married or having children. Erin apparently knew about the agreement, but she had no idea just how big the reward would be.

When she finally celebrated her 25th birthday, Erin learned that her father’s promised bonus was P1 million.

More than the impressive amount, Ogie explained that the unusual family agreement came from his desire to encourage his children to enjoy their youth and take their time before entering major lifelong commitments.

“Gusto ko i-enjoy nila ’yung kanilang kabataan,” Ogie shared.

For the showbiz personality, marriage and parenthood come with responsibilities that should not be rushed. His incentive was his own way of reminding his children that there is time to experience life, grow independently and prepare themselves for whatever comes next.

Erin’s milestone therefore came with two reasons to celebrate: turning 25 and discovering that her father had kept a million-peso promise waiting for her.
