‘The Chamber of Secrets’ opens with new Hogwarts faces
Ginny, Ron Weasley’s younger sister, plays a central role in the second installment of the series, while Tom Riddle’s mysterious diary becomes the key to unlocking the Chamber of Secrets.
The wizarding world is welcoming three more familiar characters as HBO unveiled new additions to the cast of its upcoming Harry Potter television series.
Joining season two, which adapts Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, are Bonnie Hill as Ginny Weasley, Billy Barratt as the young Tom Riddle, and Lenny Rush as the beloved house-elf Dobby. The announcement came through HBO Max’s official social media pages with the teaser, “The Chamber of Secrets has been opened.”

Dobby, meanwhile, makes his first appearance as the loyal house-elf who tries to protect Harry Potter from returning to Hogwarts.
The new cast members join Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, along with the previously announced ensemble led by John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall. Season two is expected to begin filming later this year.
