Prime Infra social dev’t arm offers welding training aid

Prime Infra Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of infrastructure developer Prime Infra, is offering to sponsor the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) training in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC II of 30 qualified residents of Barangay Calawis, Antipolo City.

In a post on its Facebook page on 1 September, the village said the SMAW NC II scholarship is open to interested and physically fit applicants who are unemployed or underemployed.

Applicants must also meet TESDA requirements for the training, including TESDA NC I certificate, certificate of employment as welder with at least two years working experience.

The training assistance consists of full payment of TESDA fees and other related expenses, including competency assessment fees. It also covers transportation expenses for the duration of the training, meals, board and lodging, and allowance.

Successful trainees will get employment linkage and job-matching assistance, subject to employer requirements.

The post urges Calawis residents to take advantage of the scholarship offer so they can add skills and get employment opportunity.

The barangay thanked the Foundation for giving the training assistance.
