OrMin Police launch school crime prevention drive

PINAMALAYAN, Oriental Mindoro — Police in Oriental Mindoro are taking crime prevention campaigns directly to classrooms, hosting interactive lectures to teach students how to identify risks and avoid criminal activity.

The Oriental Mindoro Police Provincial Office launched the community outreach initiatives across the province as part of the 32nd National Crime Prevention Week, according to Provincial Director Col. Edison V. Revita.

Officers from the Provincial Community Affairs and Development Unit, led by Lt. Col. Joel G. Paningbatan, have been visiting local schools and neighborhood centers to conduct educational sessions.

During a seminar at the Southwestern Institute of Business and Technology Inc. in Pinamalayan, Cpl. Cheyserr Anne R. Arriola briefed criminology students on emerging crime trends and daily security risks facing young adults.

The discussions stressed personal vigilance, responsible decision-making and emergency reporting protocols.

Officers urged students to view community safety as a shared responsibility and to remain proactive in protecting their peers.

Provincial police officials said school-based engagement helps students recognize modern threats while fostering youth cooperation in local crime prevention efforts.
