Pisay students develop digital emergency tracking platform

Amid rising concerns over campus security, fires and natural disasters, a team of high school students has created a digital platform designed to track and account for every student during emergency incidents.

The development team, composed of junior high school students from the Philippine Science High School-Caraga campus, earned first place in the student category at the Startup Technology Pitching Competition held here as part of the Regional Science, Technology and Innovation Week.

Titled “Ligtas Skwela,” the subscription-based digital platform connects teachers, school administrators and emergency responders during crises such as fires, earthquakes and active shooter incidents.
