Celebrating two decades of digital storytelling

Wattpad is marking its 20th anniversary with a special celebration at the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) 2026, bringing together some of the Philippines’ most popular digital storytellers and their passionate reader communities.

Happening from 9 to 13 September at the SMX Convention Center, the five-day event will feature interactive activities, exclusive merchandise, author signings, meet-and-greets, and a mainstage panel highlighting the journey of Filipino writers who built massive audiences through online storytelling.

The Philippines remains one of Wattpad’s largest global markets, with many local creators turning their online stories into bestselling books, television adaptations and film projects. To celebrate the milestone, featured authors include Knightinblack of “Hell University,” beeyotch of “Seducing Drake Palma” and CeCeLib of the “Possessive” series, along with creators behind some of the platform’s most-read Filipino stories.

Fans can also participate in the “Reader Passport” challenge at the Wattpad booth, where they can collect anniversary merchandise and enjoy special activities. Wattpad and The Hershey Company will also host an exclusive activation featuring creators eatmore2behappy, author of Ang Mutya Ng Section E, and 4reuminct, writer of The Rain in España.

The celebration continues with the panel “Just One More Chapter” on 11 September, where featured writers will discuss their creative processes, inspirations and experiences in building communities through their stories.

Through two decades of digital storytelling, Wattpad continues to highlight the voices of Filipino writers and the readers who continue to support their fictional worlds.
