BACKYARD WEED TURNS DANGEROUS

A 7-year-old Illinois boy was hospitalized for two days after contact with toxic pokeweed while helping his family with yard work triggered a severe allergic reaction and anaphylactic shock. His family is now warning other parents about the potentially dangerous plant commonly recognized by its purple berries.
