Boom Labrusca blames informal settlers for Baclaran River’s sorry state

Exasperated over the sorry sight of a river in Baclaran where all sorts of trash had been thrown, causing enormous waste, actor Boom Labrusca pointed an accusing finger at informal settlers for the overwhelming mess.

On his Facebook account, Labrusca believed informal settlers should be removed from any water-based environment.

"Hanggat ang mga Informal settlers ay hahayaan nyo dyan sa tabi tabi walang mangyayare, alisin nyo po sa ilog sa gilid gilid ng dagat ang mga iyan. Tanggalin nyo lahat," he wrote.

"Tapos taasan niyo pa kundi mataas gawing kulong ang pagtatapon ng basura. Yung mga taga-Marikina nagawa nila, inunti-unti nila nag-tulong-tulong, naumpisahan ng magandang Programa ni Bayani [Fernando] na maging malinis muna ang kapaligiran. Sinunod ng mga tao dahil sila din ang na-peperwisyo," he added.

Labrusca underscored one's love for nature as the key to helping curb clogged waterways, which cause chaos, not to mention health problems among the people.

"Dapat ang tao magkaroon na ng malasakit [hindi] yung puro negosyo at pag-kakakitaan ng lokal. Yes, ito po ay problema ng lokal na Pamahalaan ng Baranggay niy. Baranggay naton," he wrote, noting that "Di porket nakatira ka sa squatter ay maging ugaling squatter ka. Yung mga basurang yan kanino po ba galing yan?"

Capping his online aria, he asked: "Anung silbi ng flood control kung ganyan yung basurang tinapon nyo? Squatter ka na nga, squatter pa pati ugali mo (pwede namang maging maayos dba? O siya sa susunod na baha ulit)."
