BCDA, StB GigaFactory to explore renewable energy generation in NCC
The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and the StB GigaFactory, Inc. have partnered to explore renewable energy generation, energy storage systems, and e-mobility solutions for New Clark City and other BCDA properties.
BCDA President and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang, and StB GigaFactory, Inc. CEO Dennis C. Ibarra signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the Clark Global City on 7 August 2026.
The partnership aims to help build the energy ecosystem future industries need: cleaner power, greater energy resilience, and infrastructure that supports the technologies of tomorrow.
Under the agreement, BCDA will provide site access, relevant project information, and administrative support, while StB GigaFactory will conduct site surveys, technical feasibility studies, financial modeling, and develop recommendations for potential projects.
The collaboration builds on New Clark City’s growing role as a hub for advanced technology, clean energy, and sustainable infrastructure. It is home to StB GigaFactory, the Philippines’ first manufacturer of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery cells and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
"By bringing together BCDA’s development platforms and StB GigaFactory’s battery technology, the partnership can help demonstrate how renewable energy, energy storage, and cleaner mobility can work together at scale," Bingcang said.
The said initiative supports the Marcos administration’s agenda to strengthen energy security, expand renewable energy, enhance climate resilience, and build sustainable infrastructure for long-term economic growth.
