A 32-year-old Vietnamese woman was arrested Saturday after allegedly failing to deliver P70,000 to a Chinese national in exchange for a digital currency transfer, local authorities said.

The arrest occurred around 3:20 p.m. at Bayview Garden Homes 2 in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City following a complaint filed by a 28-year-old Chinese man.

According to initial police investigations, the two connected through a Telegram group where the suspect offered foreign currency exchange services.

The victim transferred 7,607.98 Chinese yuan (approximately $1,050) to the woman's Alipay account.

However, the suspect allegedly failed to hand over the agreed-upon P70,000 in cash and repeatedly offered excuses when pressed for payment, prompting the victim to contact law enforcement.
