GLOBAL GOALS
Creating opportunities beyond classroom
BDO Foundation and Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) have partnered to provide scholarship and career opportunities to students from financially challenged families.
Nestor V. Tan, BDO Unibank president and CEO, and BDO Foundation trustee, and Rev. Fr. Karel S. San Juan, S.J., president of ADDU, led officials from both sides in signing the memorandum of agreement on the BDO Foundation-ADDU Scholarship Program and Career Development Pathway.
Aside from scholarship support, the agreement provides mentorship, internship opportunities and career preparation designed to help the scholars successfully transition from education to meaningful employment. The practical workplace exposure and professional development opportunities will help scholars build the capabilities and confidence needed to pursue long-term careers.
“We hope this partnership will enable more students to reach their potential and, in turn, contribute to their communities, their industries and the country’s continued development,” Tan said.
“BDO will surely inspire our own rigor and innovativeness in Ateneo de Davao. So we hope that you will find our students engaging, effective, and also formative and open to learn from you,” Fr. San Juan told Tan during the signing ceremony.
