58 families flee as floodwaters rise in Bacolor resettlement site
Around 58 families or 231 individuals fled their houses as floodwaters continue to rise at the San Guillermo Resettlement in the town of
Bacolor, Pampanga on 9 August 2026.
According to Mayor Eduardo "Diman" G. Datu, the 58 families have took shelter at the Tinajero Integrated School Evacuation Center.
The mayor, along with the MDRRMO, DSWD, RHU, ans Vice Mayor Ron Dungca, continues to conduct monitoring, rescue, relief, and providing necessary services to the people affected by the Southwest Monsoon.
"Patuloy nating unahin ang kaligtasan ng bawat Bacoloreño. Manatiling alerto, makinig sa mga abiso ng awtoridad, at lumikas agad kung kinakailangan," he said.
Bacolor, Pampanga is currently experiencing persistent pluvial and fluvial flooding due to the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and recent tropical cyclone activity. State weather bureau DOST-PAGASA has kept Pampanga under an Orange Rainfall Warning level, indicating that flooding remains an imminent threat to the area.
