CLARK DRAWS MALAYSIA

Malaysia is eyeing Clark and New Clark City as launchpads for a bigger push into the Philippines, bringing a mission of firms to scout opportunities in BCDA’s fast-growing economic zones.

The delegation included firms involved in cybersecurity, software, transport tech, digital identity and business systems. Their visit was organized by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corp., with support from the Malaysian Embassy.

One early agreement was signed between Safe Truck, a Malaysian logistics tech company, and IoT Philippines.

The two sides did not immediately disclose the size or scope of the planned venture.

Philippine officials showed the delegation available land, tax incentives and business opportunities. Both sides talked up the prospect of a longer-term presence.

The visit offered another chance to sell Clark and New Clark City as alternatives to Metro Manila. For Malaysia, the attraction is scale.

The Philippines offers a large, young and English-speaking market, along with rising demand for logistics, cybersecurity, online services and business tech.

Trade between the two countries reached about $8.32 billion in 2025, but officials now want investment to carry more of the relationship.
