PBBM inaugurates Phl’s first energy museum
‘The Philippine Energy Museum is more than a place to learn about energy. It is the first milestone in the Department of Energy’s vision of investing in people, knowledge and innovation.’
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. recently inaugurated the country’s first Philippine Energy Museum at the Department of Energy (DoE) headquarters, launching an interactive facility designed to deepen public understanding of the power sector and advance long-term sustainability goals.
Located in Bonifacio Global City, the 1,164-square-meter facility features exhibits highlighting the nation’s energy resources, including geothermal, hydropower, natural gas, solar, wind, and battery storage technologies.
The museum also displays scale models of major power installations to demonstrate how electricity moves from generation to household consumption.
Energy Secretary Sharon S. Garin called the project a key step in building technical literacy and inspiring future energy professionals.
“The Philippine Energy Museum is more than a place to learn about energy. It is the first milestone in the Department of Energy’s vision of investing in people, knowledge and innovation,” Garin said.
She added that the facility aims to connect everyday energy use with national development while encouraging young Filipinos to pursue careers in science, engineering and research.
Developed in partnership with industry stakeholders, the museum features modular exhibit pods built with sustainable materials, allowing displays to update as new technologies emerge.
Department officials said the project aligns with broader initiatives to modernize research facilities and establish an Energy Center for Excellence, supporting national goals for a clean, resilient, and affordable power supply.
