Clark airport expands services for OFWs

Clark International Airport (CRK) is now offering better services to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) by enhancing the OFW Lounge as a one-stop shop for the modern heroes of the Philippines.

This was solidified during the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Luzon International Premier Airport Development (LIPAD) Corporation at the CRK on 21 July 2026.

Under the agreement, the OFW Lounge will become a one-stop shop starting September, and would provide a more accessible facility, including free food and drinks, charging stations, free Wi-Fi, and access to government services such as renewal of OWWA membership.

OWWA Administrator Atty. Patricia Yvonne M. Caunan; LIPAD President and CEO Noel F. Manankil; OWWA Deputy Administrator Rosalia Susana Bahia-Catapang; OWWA Deputy Administrator Jasmine Ann Gapatan; and LIPAD Head of Operations Dante Basanta signed the said agreement.

Thru this initiative, the OWWA and LIPAD recognize the contribution and sacrifice of OFWs for their families and the economy of the country. As a thank you, the aim was to provide every OFW a more comfortable and quality experience at the airport, a business-class type of service fitting for these heroes.

CRK handled 2.75 million total passengers in 2025, with international travelers (including returning Overseas Filipino Workers) accounting for 1.71 million of that volume, managed by LIPAD.

Central and Northern Luzon generate a significant percentage of the country's total OFW base, making CRK a primary strategic alternative gateway to Manila's NAIA.
