Kylie Padilla finds creative spark in co-writing ‘Taskforce Firewall’
The actress revealed that one of the show’s emotionally charged scenes became even more special after she was given the opportunity to help write it alongside director Rico Gutierrez and the series’ writers.
Kylie Padilla is finding fulfillment both in front of and behind the camera as GMA Prime's action drama Taskforce Firewall continues to tackle timely cybercrime cases while exploring the personal lives of its lead characters.
The actress revealed that one of the show's emotionally charged scenes became even more special after she was given the opportunity to help write it alongside director Rico Gutierrez and the series' writers.
“Direk Rico and the writers of Taskforce Firewall respectfully invite our input as actors. I have always loved to write; I just recently came from Ricky Lee’s writing workshop. So, to have a chance to co-write a scene has been a dream come true,” Kylie shared.
The latest episodes center on Team Firewall's investigation of a case involving children who mysteriously disappear through online gaming, while Isa (Padilla) continues to struggle with her fractured marriage to Martin (Luis Hontiveros). Despite lingering tension with teammate Leila (Cheska Fausto), Isa remains focused on the mission as Martin tries to repair their relationship.
Beyond the drama unfolding onscreen, Padilla also spoke about the camaraderie she has developed with the cast and crew, describing the collaborative environment on set as one of the highlights of working on the series.
She also praised her unexpected chemistry with co-star Miguel Tanfelix, whose character Galo has become Isa's trusted partner in the story.
“Our onscreen chemistry was a surprise for me as well. But I really find Isa and Galo’s dynamic charming. Their friendship and buddy cop relationship is not loud, but you know they have each other’s back.”
According to Padilla, portraying a genuine, non-romantic partnership has made their characters' connection feel more authentic. She added that despite the show's action-packed and emotionally intense scenes, the atmosphere behind the cameras remains fun and relaxed.
Directed by Rico Gutierrez with associate director Mark Kevin De Vela, Taskforce Firewall airs weeknights at 8:55 p.m. on GMA Prime, with streaming also available through Kapuso Stream and GMA Play, and a delayed telecast on GTV.
