Baguio records 41 COVID-19 cases

BAGUIO CITY — Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong disclosed that the city has recorded 41 confirmed COVID-19 cases so far this year.

He said there has been a noticeable rise since May. However, Magalong assured residents that the situation remains manageable and that the circulating virus is COVID-19 itself.

According to the mayor, the reported cases have been mild and there is no cause for alarm.

"Notably, the majority of these cases are concentrated among our healthcare workers and hospital staff, not the general public," he said.

Magalong said the City Health Services Office (CHSO), together with the hospitals, is closely monitoring and addressing the situation within the city's health facilities.

He directed the city's health authorities to remain vigilant and strengthen protective measures within hospitals, while assuring the public that Baguio's health facilities remain safe and fully capable of serving the community.

Magalong urged everyone to continue practicing simple precautions, such as wearing a mask in crowded places, washing hands regularly, and staying home when sick. He also urged residents to trust that the city government is on top of the situation.

"We will continue to provide timely updates as needed. Let us face this with calm and confidence, not fear," he said.
