63-year-old man nabbed for unlicensed firearm, ammunition

A 63-year-old man was apprehended on Tuesday afternoon after executing a court-issued search warrant at his residence in Barangay Valenzuela, Makati City, resulting in the recovery of an unlicensed handgun.

The suspect, identified only by the alias Dear, faces formal criminal complaints for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

The operation transpired around 5:37 p.m. along Pililia Street, Barangay Valenzuela.

During the orderly search of the premises, operational elements discovered a caliber .38 revolver loaded with three live rounds of ammunition concealed inside a small shoe box. The resident failed to present any valid firearm license or authority to possess the weapon, prompting an immediate arrest.

The suspect and the recovered items were brought to the station for proper documentation, and the case is being processed for immediate referral to the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office for inquest proceedings.

The seized firearm and ammunition will remain in official custody to be included in the formal return of the warrant to the issuing court.
