Filipino bridal couture takes center stage at DTI Wedding Fair

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) premieres its Wedding Fair 2026 for the second time on Friday, showcasing Filipino creativity, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurship in the wedding and events industry.

The fair featured fashion designers from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, with each Filipino artist showcasing their own unique style of tailoring elegant, vibrant wedding gowns.

Representing Luzon, Ranel Espaldon unveiled a breathtaking collection of bridal gowns that embodied purity and sophistication. Crafted in radiant white pieces, each was designed with intricate crystal embellishments that caught the light with every twirl.

Espaldon blended simplicity with elegance, creating a graceful silhouette of the Filipiniana. The gowns featured refined craftsmanship and luxurious textures.

For the Visayas, Adam Balasa presented an enchanting collection that combined pristine white with emerald green, which exuded regal charm while celebrating Filipino heritage.

Balasa also used sheer silk fabrics, which added softness and movement to every design, complemented by exquisite detailing that elevated each piece into a work of wearable art, fusing tradition with contemporary couture, resulting in creations that were graceful and striking.

In Mindanao, James O'Briant showcased a collection of Muslim-inspired bridal gowns that celebrated elegance, featuring refined silhouettes and impeccable tailoring. The designs highlighted the beauty of understated luxury.

Every gown reflected complexity through details, graceful draping, and craftsmanship, honoring cultural heritage while offering brides a look that shines brightly.

The DTI Wedding Fair 2026 lasts until 28 June at SMX Aura Premier Convention Center, Taguig City, and is open to everyone.
