TACLOBAN CITY — A police unit here has ordered an internal investigation following social media complaints alleging illicit relationships among its personnel.
Police Lt. Col. Dionisio Maestre, acting force commander of the 805th Maneuver Company, said the probe will be conducted with fairness, objectivity, and due process.
“We take these matters seriously and uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and accountability, recognizing that public trust is essential to our mission,” Maestre said in a statement.
The investigation was ordered after a complaint circulated online alleging that some personnel were engaged in inter-office relationships despite being married. The complainant also urged the Police Regional Office in Eastern Visayas to look into the issue, citing its impact on families.
“All concerned personnel will be given the opportunity to be heard, and any findings will be based on verified information, substantial evidence, and established procedures,” Maestre said.
He added that the unit continues to strengthen values formation through moral recovery, spiritual enrichment, and family-oriented support programs to reinforce integrity and discipline. Maestre also urged the public to course complaints through official channels.
“While social media raises awareness, formal processes ensure fair and accurate resolution,” he said.
