A food cache believed intended for a communist terrorist group (CTG) was discovered in Barangay Wenceslao, Maria Aurora, Aurora.
In a post dated 28 February, the 91st Infantry Battalion reported that it conducted a security operation alongside the 21st Special Action Company, 2nd Special Action Battalion, and the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) under the supervision of Joint Task Group 7-2 (JTG 7-2).
The operation led to the recovery of supplies allegedly meant to support the dismantled Komiteng Rehiyon Gitnang Luzon (DKRGL) and Komiteng Larangan Gerilya Narciso (DKL Narciso).
Although the threat elements had reportedly vacated the area prior to the operation, JTG 7-2 said it continues to implement security measures to ensure the safety and stability of communities in Aurora and across Central Luzon.
Recovered items included two containers containing approximately 25 kilograms of rice each; two gallon containers with about 10 kilograms of rice each; two 1.5-liter containers holding roughly 1.5 kilograms of rice each; and another water container containing around 3 kilograms of rice.
Authorities said the discovery and confiscation of the supplies would help disrupt logistical support systems in areas previously affected by insurgent activities.
