New comedies, award buzz, and must-watch K-dramas

From big-name comedies to buzzy award-season titles, HBO Max is stacking its March slate with fresh premieres and returning favorites for Filipino viewers.

Leading the lineup is the HBO Original series Rooster, headlined by Steve Carell, set on a college campus and revolving around a father navigating a complicated dynamic with his daughter. Comedy fans can also look forward to The Naked Gun, starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson, as well as Splitsville, topbilled by Dakota Johnson.

The platform is also spotlighting acclaimed films One Battle After Another and Sinners, both recent BAFTA winners and Oscar-nominated titles, alongside Writers Guild Awards contenders such as Weapons, The Pitt, The White Lotus and Task.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, subscribers can stream award-winning and female-driven series including Hacks, True Detective: Night Country, House of the Dragon and Jurassic World Rebirth.

K-content continues to expand on the service, with new episodes of The Practical Guide to Love and The Village Barber featuring Park Bo Gum. Premiering 14 March is Mad Concrete Dreams, a gritty drama that follows a desperate landlord who turns to crime in a bid to protect his family and livelihood.

On the film front, The Naked Gun debuts 6 March on HBO Max and airs on HBO on 7 March at 9 p.m. PHT. Prime Minister arrives 8 March, followed by Splitsville on 13 March. The Astronaut premieres 20 March on the streamer and screens on HBO on 21 March at 9 p.m. PHT.

Series highlights include new episodes of The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball season two beginning 2 March, Rooster on 9 March, Mad Concrete Dreams on 14 March and Teen Titans Go! season nine on 23 March. Fresh episodes of The Pitt season two drop every Friday, while The Village Barber airs Saturdays and The Practical Guide to Love streams Saturdays and Sundays.

Reality programming also gets a boost with Discovery’s Bigfoot Took Her on 5 March, TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season seven on 6 March, HGTV’s Zillow Gone Wild season two on 13 March, HGTV’s Sin City Rehab on 18 March and Food Network’s Be My Guest with Ina Garten Season six on 19 March.
