Cloudy skies, brief heavy rains seen across Philippines

Eliana Lacap

Cloudy to partly cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected across the country as easterlies continue to affect the region, PAGASA reported.

In Metro Manila and the rest of the Philippines, brief but intense thunderstorms may develop, bringing possible flash floods or landslides during heavy downpours.

Residents in low-lying and mountainous areas are advised to stay alert for sudden changes in weather conditions.

Wind conditions over Northern Luzon will be light to moderate, blowing from the northeast to southeast, with slight to moderate coastal waters ranging from 0.8 to 2.5 meters.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate northeast winds, with sea conditions also slight to moderate at 0.6 to 2.5 meters.

Authorities advised small sea vessels to exercise caution, especially during thunderstorms, as weather conditions may shift rapidly.
