Former OFW Partylist Rep. Marissa “Del Mar” P. Magsino condemned the alleged scheme of Norman Mangusin, also known as “Francis Leo Marcos,” following his recent arrest by authorities.

Mangusin is suspected of scamming overseas Filipino workers for several years through alleged bogus charity events and humanitarian activities in the Philippines.

Magsino said it was her duty to speak out as a former representative of the OFW Partylist.

There have been allegations that Mangusin received as much as P80 million from Filipinos abroad by soliciting donations under false pretenses.

“The investigations are still ongoing, but I would like to affirm that I personally condemn such spiteful operations being done at the expense of our beloved OFWs. Our partylist will fight any malicious act against our fellow Filipinos, our hardworking and dedicated heroes,” she said.

She commended law enforcement agencies for arresting Mangusin and said the move helps bring justice to Filipinos who were allegedly victimized.

Magsino added that they would continue to coordinate with the government in further investigating the alleged fraudulent activities and in securing the welfare of overseas Filipino workers around the globe.

“To our fellow Filipinos, the OFW Partylist is always ready to hear your concerns. This partylist will be your No. 1 ally, and we will dedicate ourselves to serving your needs,” she said.
