The Philippine Military Academy on Thursday said three of its cadets participated in the 3rd Richelieu International Week 2026 hosted by the Royal Military College Saint-Jean in Quebec, Canada, from 16 to 21 February 2026.

The PMA contingent was composed of Captain Junrey S. Sajulga PN(M), Midshipman First Class Leamar L. Raposo CCAFP and Aerocadet First Class Lance Zacchary L. Bañez CCAFP.

The week-long program gathered cadets from Canada, Georgia, Norway, South Korea and Belgium for cultural, academic, military, sports and social activities.

Highlights of the event included academy presentations, visits to historic and operational sites such as the Fort Saint-Jean Museum and CFB Valcartier’s Virtual Battlefield Simulation System, and participation in LeaderSphere 2026, which examined shifting global order, strategic competition and international law.

During the cadet symposium, PMA representatives presented two key security issues facing the Philippines in the coming years: cybersecurity threats and the country’s environmental vulnerability.

The exchange enabled participants to compare national perspectives, discuss responses to shared challenges and establish professional networks with foreign counterparts.

The academy said the engagement provided valuable international exposure, allowing cadets to interact closely with peers from other countries and broaden their understanding of emerging security concerns.

It added that participation in the Richelieu International Week allows the PMA to benchmark best practices in military education while advancing its vision of developing globally competent, culturally aware and future-ready officers.

The academy said such initiatives also strengthen security cooperation engagement efforts with like-minded nations in support of regional and global stability.
