Some 33 Bulacan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) were honored at the Camp General Alejo S. Santos in Malolos City on Thursday, for their successful operations and cases solved in their stations within the province.
National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Vice Chairperson and Executive Officer Commissioner Rafael Vicente R. Calinisan awarded the citations to these 33 police officers along with BPPO Provincial Director PCOL Angel L. Garcillano.
The said officials awarded certificates of commendation to three officers of Malolos MPS, three from Marilao MPS, three from Santa Maria MPS, four from PIU, three from Baliwag CPS, three from 1st PMFC, three from Meycauayan CPS, three from Bustos MPS, two from San Rafael MPS, three from Calumpit MPS, and three from SJDM CPS.
The commissioner expressed his admiration for the awardees, referring to them as the “action stars” of Bulacan Police. He also reiterated his hopes to personally extend his gratitude to half of the police population in the country before his term ends in 2031.
“Ang plano ko, makamayan ang [kahit] kalahati ng kapulisan bago ako umalis. Gusto kong iparamdam sa lahat ng pulis na ‘yung NAPOLCOM [ay] kakampi ninyo,” Calinisan said.
He also offered to the attendees his personal contact number as a sign of being transparent and open to all the police, particularly when they have something to request or suggest to the commission.
“[You may contact me] if you [want to] inform me about anything, na nag-request kayo ng personal, ihingan, may gusto kayong polisiyang dapat baguhin, may suggestion kayo na ano ba’ng dapat gawin sa PNP o dapat baguhin sa NAPOLCOM,” he added.
Calinisan also left a reminder to the criminology students who are currently serving as interns at the BPPO, telling them that having the uniform and power of the police is not a free pass to be arrogant, especially to the people they are going to serve in the future.
“Pakiusap ko since we’re doing things for you, [ay] let’s serve our people. And when I say serve our people, I say serve them humbly. Hindi lisensiya ‘yung uniporme sa kayabangan. Hindi lisensiya ang kapangyarihan sa kayabangan,” he said.
Moreover, Calinisan also witnessed the unveiling of BPPO facility markers in the camp, including the Renovated Kabalikat Hall Conference Room, Renovated Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Chapel, Kabalikat ‘98 Activity Center, Bulacan PPO Relocated Flagpole, and the Kabalikat ‘98 Multi-purpose Lobby.
