P50,000 worth of drugs seized in Occidental Mindoro raid

More than P50,000 worth of suspected shabu, dried marijuana (kush), and drug paraphernalia were seized by police and anti-narcotics operatives during a search warrant operation in Sitio Sawmill, Barangay Balansay, Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro — on 22 February 2026.  

According to the report, the operation was carried out around 9:56 p.m. by the Mamburao Municipal Police Station, with the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Occidental Mindoro Police Provincial Office, PDEA MIMAROPA Occidental Mindoro, and the PDEA MIMAROPA Regional Special Enforcement Team.  

Authorities recovered 11 plastic sachets of dried marijuana leaves or “kush” weighing approximately 19 grams, with an estimated street value of P19,000. They also confiscated two sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 7 grams valued at P35,000, along with various drug paraphernalia.  

The suspects were identified as “Pat,” 28, and “Rea,” 20, both residents of the area and listed as high-value targets on the police drug watchlist.  

The two are now facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Police said the operation was conducted under the Enhanced ALERTO Strategic Framework implemented by PRO MIMAROPA Regional Director PBGen. Jovencio S. Badua Jr., as part of a sustained campaign against illegal drugs in the region.
