Actress-singer Belle Mariano taps into vulnerability and real-life romance in her newly released album, Like U.
Launched under StarPop, the eight-track pop collection journeys through the many faces of love — from the thrill of new beginnings to the sting of heartbreak, the process of healing, and the courage to hope again. Each song reflects emotions that resonate with listeners navigating their own romantic chapters.
The album brings together an impressive lineup of songwriters and producers. “The Puzzle” and “Makulay” were crafted by Jonathan Manalo and Roque Rox Santos, while Rox also penned “Numbers Don’t Lie.” Trisha Denise wrote “Pintuan” and the carrier single “Like You.” Jonathan composed “Magdadala” and “Get Out,” and Dennis Campaner wrote “Nowhere Now Here.” Serving as overall producer, Rox steered the creative direction of the entire project.
At the heart of the album is “Like You,” a feel-good anthem about discovering someone extraordinary — a person whose presence brings color and meaning in unexpected ways.
The release arrives shortly after the announcement of Belle’s much-awaited big-screen reunion with Donny Pangilinan in the upcoming film Tayo Sa Wakas, produced by Star Cinema.
Recognized as Listener’s Choice at the 2024 Billboard Philippines Women in Music and honored with the 2024 Lullaby Artist Award by Spotify, Belle continues to cement her status as a streaming favorite, following earlier hits such as “Bugambilya,” “Sigurado” and “Tanging Dahilan.”
