Canlubang sizzles early in PAL Interclub

Canlubang, aiming to end a five-year title drought, got off to a strong start in the 77th Philippine Airlines Interclub Seniors in Davao City on Monday, posting 150 points to hold a five-point lead over defending champion Del Monte.

The 11-time Interclub champion leaned on the combined 110 points of brothers Abraham Rosal (52) and Pem Rosal (50) at South Pacific Golf and Country Club, with Abraham Avena adding 48 to round out the scoring.

Del Monte stayed in contention behind Raul Minoza’s 50 points, supported by Leon Maghamil (49) and Ernesto Apas and Arsenio Mondilla (48 each).

Camp Aguinaldo emerged as a surprise contender with 145 points, led by Richard delos Santos (52), Noel Beleran (48), and Alexei Musngi (45).

Manila Southwoods opened with 143 points, anchored by Don Breganza (50), Monet Garcia (48), and Jose Roy III (45). Luisita matched that total with Jorge Gallent (50), Marvin Caparros (49), and Jingy Tuason (44).

Forest Hills tallied 134 points, led by Ronald Littaua (50), Edgar Lee (42), and Martin Limgenco.

All the leading teams took byes in the opening round.
