Vice President Sara Duterte has declared that she will use an iron-fist policy in pursuing full accountability for corrupt people responsible for plunging the country into political neglect, social injustices, and economic crisis if elected president in the 2028 election.
In a television interview, the Vice President revealed that the core objective of her administration is to make current and past public servants fully accountable for their misdeeds against the people.
“I will use an iron hand in dealing with corruption — on the spot, no cover-up, no delay.”
However, Duterte clarified that she will delegate the anti-corruption campaign to her vice president, who will become anti-corruption czar, so she can focus on rebuilding the country’s shattered economy.
The Vice President has already chosen her running mate but declined to identify the person for political reasons.
This developed as the Masa Sara Duterte Alliance (MASADA) played down the possibility of Naga Mayor Leni Robredo running for president with the support of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
The final and official tally in the 9 May, 2022 presidential race showed Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on top with 31,629,783 votes. A far second was Vice President Leni Robredo with 15,035,773 votes.
MASADA, in a statement, said the 32,208,417 votes for Vice President Sara Duterte will haunt and cast doubt on the chances of Robredo in the coming 2028 elections.
On 25 May, 2022, the joint congressional canvassing committee overwhelmingly declared her the winner of the vice presidential race in Congress’ official count, with 32,208,417 votes, or a huge margin of 22 million over her closest rival, Senator Francis Pangilinan.
“The 32 million votes for VP Sara are fact, not fiction. They cannot be downplayed as she continues to gather support, as shown in a recent survey rating. Marcos had won the presidency with 31,629,783 votes.”
MASADA will launch a nationwide campaign to rally the more than 32 million people to renew their support for Sara in the 2028 presidential election.
