Actress Rhian Ramos has spoken publicly for the first time about a complaint filed before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) linking her and two companions to alleged assault and illegal detention.

In a brief conversation with GMA News, Ramos acknowledged the emotional toll of the controversy but said she remains confident.

“Well honestly, siyempre sino ba naman ang matutuwa. I can say yes it’s in a way stressful pero I’m also quite confident na the truth will set us free,” she said.

Ramos declined to provide further details, citing the possibility of legal proceedings.

“I just can’t give so much details about everything because we might be waiting for a possible case or whatever. So, I can’t give too many details but in the end, the truth will set us free,” she added.

The complaint, filed before the NBI, accuses Ramos, Michelle Dee and Samantha Panlilio of assault, torture and serious illegal detention allegedly occurring inside a condominium unit in Makati in January.

Michelle Dee has publicly denied the allegations. Her legal counsel presented a timeline that they said contradicts the claim.

“We find this physically impossible and also incredible kasi based on the allegation of the driver, nangyari raw yung alleged mauling and illegal detention, January 17 to 19. However, records would show na si Michelle Dee was in Iloilo ng buong araw ng January 17, and she was able to go back to Manila only on January 18,” her camp said.

As the issue circulated online, Ramos’ mother also commented on the matter, expressing concern over the public narrative surrounding the case.

“It has helped fuel this social media frenzy, leaving the ones stolen from and betrayed to be victimized even more by depraved imaginations with stories morphing like cancer,” she said.

Ramos said she is focusing on due process as the complaint moves forward, maintaining that the case should be resolved based on evidence rather than speculation.
