The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Friday said operations at Puerto Princesa International Airport remain normal and uninterrupted following the death of its acting airport manager.
CAAP Director General Retired Lt. Gen. Raul Del Rosario personally confirmed during a visit to the airport on Thursday, 19 February, that flight schedules, safety procedures and essential services continue without disruption.
Del Rosario extended condolences to the bereaved family and assured them that CAAP management will closely monitor developments in the case.
“Ibibigay ng CAAP ang suportang kailangan ng pamilya. Makikipagtulungan tayo sa mga kinauukulan para maresolba ang kaso at mabigyan ng hustiya ang ating kasama sa CAAP,” Del Rosario said.
CAAP said the circumstances surrounding the airport manager’s death remain under investigation and urged the public to refrain from making assumptions or spreading unverified information.
The agency also condemned the shooting of the acting airport manager on Wednesday, 18 February, describing it as a senseless act of violence.
CAAP called on authorities to conduct a thorough and expeditious investigation to ensure those responsible are held accountable under the law.
