The 32,208,417 votes for Vice President Sara Duturte in the 2022 elections will haunt and cast doubt on the chances of possible rivals in the coming 2028 elections, her supporters declared on Friday.
Benito Ranque, convenor of the reactivated Masa- Sara Duterte Alliance (MASADA), said that on 25 May 2022, the joint congressional canvassing committee declared Duterte had overwhelmingly won the vice presidential race in the Congress’ official count with 32,208,417 votes, or a huge margin of 22 million over her closest rival, Senator Francis Pangilinan.
“ The 32 million votes for VP Sara is fact not fiction, it cannot be downplayed as she continued to gather support as shown in a recent survey rating.
He said her running mate Marcos had won the presidency by 31,629,783 votes. “But Marcos is not running, so who will oppose Sara?” he added.
Ranque said that when Sara announced her intention to run, she did not use her title as vice president but humbly introduced herself as Sara Duterte.
He added that MASADA will launch a nationwide campaign to rally the more than 32 million people to renew their support for Sara in the 2028 presidential election.
Ranque said that the impeachment, the trial of former President Rodrigo Duterte, and the ongoing flood control issues will be presented at the grassroots level to seek the renewed support of the 32 million Filipinos who voted for Sara in the 2022 election.
“Impeachment, ICC trial, and flood control will be the political battlecry of MASADA,” he said.
