The Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization turned over a rice processing facility to the Pagsanggiran ti Mannalon Multi-purpose Cooperative in Barangay Alinunu, Abulug, Cagayan on Wednesday. The facility, part of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund Mechanization Program, is expected to boost both harvest and livelihoods for local farmers.
The Rice Processing System 2, valued at P63.8 million, includes a multi-stage rice mill with a two- to three-ton milling capacity per hour and two recirculating dryers with a 12-ton drying capacity per batch. Officials from the DA-Regional Field Office II, the Municipal Local Government Unit of Abulug, and the Land Bank of the Philippines attended the turnover ceremony.
