A police officer assigned to the PNP Aviation Security Group is in custody after his vehicle rammed into at least 15 vehicles along Cayetano Boulevard on Monday evening.
The incident occurred in Barangay Tuktukan, involving 14 motorcycles and one car. According to an initial investigation, the officer’s vehicle allegedly suffered brake failure.
The driver reportedly attempted to steer to the right to avoid a collision but instead plowed into a row of vehicles parked or moving along the roadside.
The crash left several motorcycle riders and passengers with minor injuries, while others were transported to a hospital for further treatment.
Local reports indicated that several of the motorcycles involved were heavily damaged.
The officer is currently being held by the Taguig City Police Traffic Bureau. While the victims have reportedly reached a settlement with the officer, resulting in the withdrawal of potential criminal charges, authorities noted the driver remains liable for all property damages caused by the crash.
