Handcrafted eyewear giant Herian debuts in Manila

Eyewear enthusiasts can now experience Italian craftsmanship upclose with the arrival of Herian —- a bespoke eyewear brand rooted in Florence, Italy.
Last 5 to 8 February, a special and limited-time pop-up store marked the brand’s debut in the Philippines and offered a rare opportunity for Filipinos to encounter eyewear created entirely by hand.
At the exclusive press and VVIP (very very important persons) event, guests were able to meet, greet and have a quick chat with brand founder and creative director Herian Boccali (and/or his assistant), whose approach challenges the idea of sunglasses as mere accessories.

As Boccali shared, “Glasses are not just accessories, but an integral part of the wearer’s identity.”

HERIAN masterpiece.

Each piece was custom-made. Personal ideas and requests were welcomed as part of the creative process, ensuring that the final frame feels both curated and distinctly individual.

Herian’s arrival at Rustan’s is an exercise in intimacy and the ephemeral, leaning into a philosophy where the weight of the craft far outweighs the volume of the stock.

For the Filipino eyewear collector — those who view eyewear frames not merely for utility but as wearable sculpture — this pop-up served as a direct bridge to Florence and its roots of honest, handcrafted excellence.

Having Herian in Rustan’s reaffirms its position as the country’s premier arbiter of taste. Beyond selling a product, it is inviting the discerning client into a narrative of heritage and tactile storytelling, proving once again that true luxury is always personal.
