From hospital corridors in California to training rooms filled with aspiring leaders, Ms. Dang de Sahagun-Bernardez has built a career around helping people speak with purpose. A registered nurse turned communication mentor, she founded Powertalk and has since guided professionals, influencers, pageant contenders and executives toward stronger presence and confidence on the global stage.

A University of the Philippines cum laude graduate and certified IELTS coach with a perfect Band 9 score, Bernardez has spent more than 17 years mentoring teams across Asia, the United States and Europe. Her work has ranged from coaching students to preparing high-level personalities for international platforms, including serving as Head Judge for Miss World 2022. Today, she continues to mentor learners as Head of Business Development of SRK Education Group International and Head of Woodlands International Homeschool, helping shape globally competitive communicators.

Even beyond the classroom, her influence extends into media and branding as a model and ambassador for Prestiz TV & Appliances — another platform where communication meets confidence.

Now, she brings her philosophy into print through her upcoming book, Speak to Lead.

“Speak to Lead was written for leaders, emerging professionals and anyone called to influence. I wanted to offer a field-tested blueprint for communication that not only inspires action but also builds trust. Along the way, I realized true leadership does not start with skill — it starts with surrender — and that excellence in our work can honor the God who equips us for every assignment.”

She shared that the book reflects both experience and personal journey.

“The book is drawn from nearly two decades of training leaders, executives and professionals, as well as personal seasons where faith, resilience and calling had to anchor my own voice. My hope is to challenge readers to shape their words with wisdom, align their influence with their calling and steward every platform with conviction and grace.”

At its heart, the message goes beyond speaking techniques and enters character formation.

“Ultimately, it reveals that voice, presence and character shape influence far more than position or title. Speak to Lead is a reminder that leadership is both a skill and a stewardship — and when we speak from purpose, people follow.”

Through classrooms, stages and soon bookstores, Bernardez continues to prove that communication is more than articulation — it is direction, identity and calling spoken aloud.
