The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) marks National Health Insurance Program (NHIP) Month with 26.75 million enrollees to its Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP), which provides members free consultations, selected laboratory services and essential medicines through accredited primary care providers.

The figure, which is as of January 2026, selected 40.01 million YAKAP clinics in 2025 and 21.72 million in 2026, reflecting the growing engagement of members with their chosen primary care providers.

Clinic selections refer to repeat visits to clinics chosen by members, indicating frequent use of the YAKAP service.

The theme for this year’s NHIP Month is “Ka-YAKAP ang Pilipino sa Kalusugang Segurado,” which reaffirms the agency commitment to sustaining primary care gains and expanding access nationwide.

“We are strengthening primary care to ensure that each Filipino have quick access to timely, quality and comprehensive health services,” said PhilHealth president and CEO Dr. Edwin M. Mercado.

PhilHealth is encouraging families to register in YAKAP through their chosen primary care providers to ensure continuous health monitoring, early detection, and preventive care, at low cost.
