BAGUIO CITY — Most mothers choose to act bravely for their children, especially when they face imminent danger from predators who target the vulnerable.

A mother filed a formal police report against her husband for the alleged abuse of both herself and her minor daughter in Baguio City. According to police records, the 41-year-old suspect allegedly watched his minor stepdaughter while she was bathing and changing clothes on multiple occasions between October and December 2025.

The suspect is also accused of molesting the child during this period.

The mother did not immediately report the incidents because she was also a victim of physical abuse by the suspect. Police investigation revealed that the suspect threatened to kill the minor if she informed her mother about the abuse. Despite the threats, the mother went to the police station on 12 February 2026 to report the suspect’s actions.

The suspect has not yet been arrested. He faces charges for acts of lasciviousness and violations of Republic Act 7610, also known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
