A 16-year-old boy was apprehended by operatives of the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act at Phase 1K, Kasiglahan Village, Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal on Friday night.

Initial investigation showed that arresting officers were conducting surveillance and follow-up operations when they chanced upon the suspect in possession of a firearm, leading to his immediate arrest.

Recovered from the suspect was one caliber .45 Colt pistol loaded with live ammunition and a magazine.

The arrested minor was allegedly involved in a previous attempted robbery with homicide incident that occurred on 8 February 2026, in the same area, which resulted in the death of a 20-year-old victim. The suspect was positively identified by a witness present during the earlier incident.

The minor was turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office for proper disposition in accordance with laws governing children in conflict with the law.

Appropriate charges are now being prepared for filing.
